Analytical capabilities
Reference range mechanism A flexible system allowing the user to define normal and alert ranges differentiated by various user-defined parameters such as sex, diagnosis, prescriptions, age etc.
Delta check + biological significant difference
Once the delta check mechanism is configured and activated all test result are checked against previous results conducted for the same patient.
Calculated tests Statistical and mathematical formulas may be added automatically to requests and lab reports. Tests may be calculated across different samples, specimens and disciplines.
Patient history Previous patient results may be viewed on-line and included in the report.
Test order - "retro search" The database is automatically scanned to help the user decide whether test requests are justified and reduce lab costs.
Automatic result approval Subject to QC, delta check, biological significance and ref. range.
QC mechanism Features lot number management, cross control rules and special interfaces for proficiency survey programs. Historic QC results are kept in the database and may be viewed normalized to relevant historic target values.
Patient-based QC Average-of-Normals patient results calculated routinely and integrated into the QC database.
Multi disciplinary Chemistry, Urine Chemistry, Urine Microscopy, Blood Gas, Coagulation, Immunology, Serology, Hematology, Microbiology ;data integrated seamlessly into one database.

Security
Role-based access control Customizable user access policies defined with overrides for special tests and special patient attributes.
Audit trail Keeps track of selected user actions. Users may be asked to justify their actions and complete audit trails are kept for the record.

Reports
Online reports Routine reports used daily to document and help the user schedule and organize workflow.
Hot reports -> work list and batch mode Online reports may turn into "hot" batch result entry sheets.
Report generator Flexible parametric reports and scripts.
Open schema
Third party tools may be used to allow the user to produce custom reports conveniently and appropriate to specialised local circumstances.
Connectivity
A simple, straightforward scheme allows interfacing with virtually ANY external system using web services, custom API's or industry standard protocols such as HASTM, HL7 or XML.
Clinical analyzer interfaces Unsurpassed array of drivers for most known analyzers.
Host machine interfaces Any interface required for various Host machines - on request.
Integration with lab automation, billing systems etc. Could be transparent to the end-user.
Exception management Acquired messages that cannot be processed due to technical problems and logical conflicts are stored aside and may be later analyzed, reviewed and processed.
Distribution and messaging capabilities
Lab result formatting Lab reports may be formatted using sophisticated, user definable templates.
Distribution to multiple recipients and technological media (basic version) Lab reports may be distributed via different media (fax/ mail/ remote printers/ host machines etc) to multiple recipients. Distribution queues are maintained and complete records and statuses are kept.
Instant messaging (including pagers, SMS etc.) dataWizard features manual as well as automatic and manual messaging capabilities (subject to user defined conditions and rules.)

Remote Interfaces
Web remote station - pre analytic capabilities A web interface targeted at the phlebotomist provides detailed order tracking and specimen drawing instructions (in development).
Web order entry and result retrieval Specialized web interfaces targeted at the physician and the patient allow for test order entry as well as result retrieval(in development).
Automation
Rule mechanism
Simple yet powerful scripts act on lab data when previously defined conditions occur.
Sample tracking mechanism Locate a sample before, during and after analytic processing.
Barcode enabled data entry Barcodes used to identify requests, tests and individual samples.
Utility and enterprise resource planning
Multiple archive management
Large archives may be split to increase stability and performance and stored separately. Secondary archives may be browsed and searched at the user's convenience.
Todays worklist
The executive online status screens. Monitoring traffic, device availability, inter lab statistics.
Device management. Calibration, maintenance etc.
Device calibration and maintenance procedures may be documented. Alerts may be raised if and when routine maintenance is overdue (in development).
Reagent stock control Subject to actual tests conducted at the lab(in development).
