Flow Cytometry Immunophenotyping of Leukaemia and Lymphoma

19 May 2010

Flow Cytometry has been used in Haemato-Oncology for the diagnosis of Leukaemia and lymphoma for the last thirty years. During this period, this complex discipline played a major contribution in haematological malignancies classification, diagnosis and prognosis. There is a need to focus on the continuous training of operators and scientists particularly due to the recent evolution of instrumentation, lasers, fluorochromes and applications in the clinical laboratory. The aim of the meeting is to discuss the main aspects of the use of flow cytometry for immunophenotyping. The meeting will be of interest to both people who are new in the field and those with some experience, including scientists, technicians, doctors and trade representatives.

Capillary Electrophoresis: Green Training Workshops

11-13 May 2010

It is a great time to use capillary electrophoresis (CE), highlighted by the recent shortage of acetonitrile and a renewed focus on green separation technologies. CE is fast and robust, requires little sample preparation and generates almost no waste for disposal. CE is rapidly becoming the industry standard for the quality control of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and other biotherpeutics.

We would like to invite you to join us for update workshops at our UK facilities in Buckinghamshire in May 2010 and around the country later in the year.

Principle elements of the training workshop:

  • An introduction to capillary electrophoresis - including hands-on instrument training.
  • Overview of CE-MS - present solutions and future possibilities
  • Protein analysis - including laboratory demonstration of new state-of-the-art capillary isoelectric focusing.
  • Small Molecule analysis - including laboratory demonstration of latest chiral and ion analysis chemistries.
